Mt. Aconcagua is a gigantic rock mass that is called “Sentinel of Stone.” The mountain dominates the Chilean and Argentinean landscape. Aconcagua is located in Argentine and is the highest mountain of the Americas. The mountain was formed by the subduction of the Nazca Plate beneath the South Americas plate. Mt. Aconcagua is not considered a volcano.
